The WHRI goes to Uganda!

We are thrilled to announce that a team of WHRI researchers who work with BC Women’s Hospital, BC Cancer Agency, BC Centre for Disease Control and the University of British Columbia are traveling to Kampala, Uganda later this week. This team will be assisting with the establishment of a comprehensive cervical cancer screening and prevention strategy for this sub-Saharan nation, in partnership with Makerere University. The proposed approach represents a continuum of reproductive care from HPV vaccination, screening through to colposcopy and surgical interventions for the treatment of cervical cancer. This is an interagency Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) endeavour, bringing collective successes and expertise in cervical cancer prevention from British Columbia to sub-Saharan Africa.
